Introducing Smart Duplicate Detector v1.0
Smart Duplicate Detector is a new Pro plugin for Obsidian that helps you review duplicate and near-duplicate notes before they become rework and context noise.
As a vault grows, repeated drafts, overlapping notes, and similar fragments create hidden friction: you reread the same idea, rebuild the same context, and make the same cleanup decisions again. Smart Duplicate Detector surfaces likely duplicate or near-duplicate candidates so you can review overlap before changing trusted notes.
This release also gives duplicate detection its own dedicated plugin. Smart Connections can stay focused on surfacing related notes while you write; Smart Duplicate Detector focuses on reviewing repeated work.

Smart Duplicate Detector helps surface likely duplicate or near-duplicate material so you can compare what overlaps and decide what should happen next.
Treat results as review candidates. Semantic similarity is useful signal, but similarity is not sameness.
