Tune when decorators appear

  • Lower the inline score threshold to see more candidates.
  • Raise it when your vault is noisy and you want only strong matches.
  • Use include and exclude filters to scope results by folder paths.

Keep high value notes in view

Footer connections track the active note and update as you type so you can capture ideas before they drift.

  • Pin useful results to keep them visible.
  • Hide noisy notes to teach the ranking what to ignore.

Shape how results are ranked

  • Choose Smart Sources or Smart Blocks as the candidate pool.
  • Select a score algorithm that uses feedback or pure similarity.
  • Layer on optional reranking, such as Smart Rank, when configured.

Bring scores into Obsidian Bases

  • Add a Connections score column to compare notes row by row.
  • Use score_connection and list_connections inside Base formulas.
  • Let pinned and hidden feedback update scores on recalculation.

Ask questions with Smart Lookup

Pair inline and footer connections with a focused Smart Lookup surface for ad hoc questions.

  • Query concepts in natural language instead of raw keywords.
  • Review results, then drag notes into your editor or Bases views.
